Answers to my being tagged.

I don't really know what to say about myself but her it goes.......

1. I absolutely adore children. I have always loved kids but ever since I have had one of my own I have grown more tender-hearted for all kids. I get really emotional when I see kids that I think are so cute and sweet even when I don't know them. I don't usually cry unless I am by myself and I see a really sweet picture of a baby or something. Jacob can't be in the same room with me when I read parenting magazines because I make him look at all the cute babies on every page.

2. I love to bake. I make cookies way more often then I should because I love making them as much as eating them. I can't wait till Lily is older and we can make cookies together. I don't like cooking in general as much because I am not very good at it. It seems every meal I make never turns out how I thought it would so I just get upset. One of my goals for this year is to master the art of cooking. I am determined to get it right even if it takes me all year.

3. I love old old black and white movies. When we first moved here I rented them from the library and watched them just about every day. It got to the point where I started thinking and dreaming in black and white. I used to make fun of my mom when I was younger because she always watched old movies and I thought she was crazy. My favorite movie however is You've Got Mail. I have watched that one multiple times in a 24 hour period.

4. I like to read although I don't do it very often and I don't know why. My favorite author is my husband, Jacob. I love seeing how his imagination works. I am glad that he likes to write because when I was little I used to write little stories all the time. I have always wanted to write childrens books. I have started a few of them. My favorite children's books are Amelia Bedelia and all Dr. Seuss.

5. I don't like to travel. I love the idea of being somewhere exotic but I don't want to travel there. I hate driving and I am absolutely terrified of flying. I am excited for family vacations though when we get more kids.

6. I love the smell of laundry detergent because it is the smell of clean. I love it when I get in bed at night after washing my bedding and smelling the freshness of my pillow and blanket. Sometimes when I am at the grocery store I have to walk down the cleaning isle just to smell it.

so there you have it. I Tag Becca.

I got tagged

I don't really endorse this sort of behavior, but it's familial, so I'll respond to it. My sister "tagged" me which means I have to say six things about myself.... The only problem with that is I wear my brain on my sleeve, so everything I write will be pretty apparent to most people. Well, here goes:

1. I hate bumper stickers. I hate them so much! They're tacky, gaudy, and often liberal. Most often, I find myself wanting to rear-end the person with them on his or her car (especially if it's a large red letter between T and V). On the other hand, I want to own a mini-cooper painted totally blue and white with huge Y's on each door.

2. I read spider-man comic books. Still. Even at 25, I buy them and read them. I won't let little kids read them because either their fingers will be dirty or they'll get too excited and bend the pages. Ironic, isn't it?

3. I have incredibly eclectic tastes in music. Probably more so than anyone I know. There's not a single genre of music that I don't like at least something in. For country, I tolerate Rascal Flatts because they're on the verge of pop anyways. I like Eminem for his brilliant lyrics and beat, some hard rock like Metallica, techno, opera, classical. You name it, I like something in that genre. Lately, I've been getting into older stuff like Queen and Buddy Holly.

4. I've officially read more Stephen King than any other author with two exceptions: K.A. Applegate and R.L. Stine. I'm reluctant to count them because they wrote long series of books. Animorphs and Goosebumps, respectively. And the word count of all those books is relatively low. Either way, I have to say that Stephen King is now my biggest influence on my writing. Scary? No, not really.

5. I've been pregnant twice. This has a long backstory with alien abductions that I'd rather not get into because it's embarrassing. However, let's just say that UFOs are very real and a cross species of Human and Frijjurtyx is not pretty. I think the mothers of my children gave them up for interstellar adoption. I thought about fighting for the rights to keep them but couldn't get a ride on a Class A5 starship to Galaxy M14-h. It took me a while to get over this.

6. I don't really like Star Wars. I used to, but I one day realized that the movies just aren't that good. The only exception to this is Empire Strikes Back. My family will all probably roll their eyes because I've become a critic, but more power to me, I say. My philosophy is I don't eat crap, so why would I watch it? Soap box over.

Ta da!

Oh yes... I tag Kat.

Update on VACATION

Hello to all you people who probably won' t read this. Just a quick word on how things are going in Utah:

Great.

Kat and I have gone down to a couple of BYU Basketball games. Last night was Kat's birthday so we went down to Provo again for dinner and a movie. We ate at the Legend's Grill and watched I am Legend. I'll write about that shortly. It was fun. Lily's been a big hit among the family. Mostly because of her stunning array of sound effects. Studios are already calling her to sign contracts to work in their sound booths. Hope your holiday seasons are merry and bright, or at least merry.

HUGE HUGE STEP FOR ROMNEY

This just in for those of you who support Romney for President. The National Review, a biweekly conservative magazine, has seen the light and thrown in their support for Mitt. I can't even begin to say what a huge endorsement this is before the Iowa caucus rapidly approaching. And with the scourge-of-all-governors Huckabee rising in the polls, it helps a ton. Hopefully, more people, especially those voting in primaries and caucuses nation-wide will show some similar measurement of intelligence by following suit.
Check out the great article here.

Romney Gives The Speech

And I won't say anything about it except that if you haven't watched it yet, you're missing out. It's a little over 23 minutes long, and you can watch it here:

If you don't vote for Mitt, you'd better know something I don't.

Some movies we watched this week:

1. If you're a member of Generation Y, you've probably never seen Driving Miss Daisy. Well, you'd better rectify that because there's probably some things about it you don't know:

a.It won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1989. Other Oscars were Best Actress (Jessica Tandy), Best Makeup, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
b.It is the last PG rated film to win this award, and Jessica Tandy is the oldest actress to win her award. It was nominated for a bunch of other awards.
c.It's funny and touching. You're hard pressed to find a film so well carried by such a small core of relatively unknown actors at the time: Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy, Dan Akroyd (not so unknown, but he's not funny in this one), and Esther Rolle.

2. Millions, an indie film directed by Danny Boyle. It's the best film about charity I've ever seen. The message is overt, but the way it's presented is so fresh and interesting, that one cannot help but enjoy it. Ebert rated it as one of the best films of 2005. It's charming and delightful, and the two boys in it deliver performances just as good, if not better, than the adults. Forget Feature Films For Families which shove messages down your throat, try Millions.

3. Third is Ghost Rider. The one good thing I say about it is that it never takes itself too seriously because the script is so campy. Unfortunately, the script is so campy that the movies never takes itself seriously. YAWWNNN! A guy who sells his soul to the devil for the life of his father is forced to wander the streets at night avenging innocents and damning criminals while battling evil demons bent on destroying earth. Pretty funny, right?

4. The last is Remember the Titans. Before you decide to skip this because you already know how much you love it, there's something you may want to consider. Originally, it was supposed to be an R rated film, but the director wanted to cut out the unnecessary language. For the first time in the five or so times I've watched this film, I realized that it endorses homosexuality in a very sneaky way. How's that, you ask? Watch the film for yourself one more time, and you figure it out. But mark my words, it does. And the football scenes? For the most part... phoney. Try Friday Night Lights or Rudy for a superior football film, Glory Road or Driving Miss Daisy for a superior film about race.
