Jacob's Parents came to visit for a few days. We had a lot of fun. Lily especially enjoyed the extra attention. We went to the Cheescake Factory for dinner one night. My little girl is getting so big. It is so strange to see her sitting all by herself and feeding herslef.

We went to eat lunch with Jacob at school.

We discovered that Lily loves Beef Jerky. She kept getting it out of the red bag on the floor, then she would give it to Grandma and wait for her to open it and give her some.

Why I Will Support McCain ... (as much as I don't want to)

You all know I'm a Romney guy. I'll also be the first to admit that he was NEVER a perfect candidate, but I thought he was the best of the bunch. Well, it looks pretty much certain that Romney will not win, and McCain will. And as much as I do NOT want to see a McCain / Huckabee ticket against Clinton or Obama or both, that is also very possible.
However, the one reason that every single Republican needs to get behind McCain if he is nominated is this:

You may disagree with whatever you want, but the Supreme Court has 6, yes, 6 justices over the age of 68. In the next four years, it is very likely that at least one of them will either retire or die. Who do you want to be picking their replacements? Clinton? Obama? No. Trust me. If there is a conservative, constitutionalist bone in your body, you do not. Therefore, you have to conclude that the only logical thing to do is support McCain and make sure he beats the Democratic nominee. Supreme Court justices have an incredible amount of impact on our country. As it currently stands, the court is fairly balanced between conservative and liberal leaning members, but the appointment of even one liberal judge will tip the balance opening the way for activist judges who want to legislate. What is the solution? Support McCain.

Another Tiger on the Prowl . . .

I am HUGE fan of Tiger Woods. And with this year's golfing just starting up, Tiger has begun it with two big victories. The first was a week ago at the Buick Invitational which Tiger won by an impressive 8 shots. And today (in United Arab Emirates) he came from behind birdeying his last two holes to win by 1 shot. My, grandpa, who absolutely LOVES to see Tiger lose, will be very thrilled to see that this season is starting out in dominating fashion for golf's greatest player. Tiger now has 72 wins, 62 in PGA, tying him with Arnold Palmer for the fourth all-time record.





















Oh yes, and if you were hoping for more pics of Tiger Lily, we don't have a camera right now. :-)

The Most Expensive Pictures Ever Taken

So, I don't get it, and that's probably because I'm a man and the Y chromosome prevents it. But what is the big deal with Skye Johannsen? She takes pictures of naked babies, washes out the color, bleaches the skin via photoshop (or some other computer program), and then sells them for a bajillion dollars a pose. Bajillion is not an actual number (as far as I know). I have cute nephews. I do, I can't help it. Not all nephews are created equally, and so chances are that some of you reading this don't have as cute nephews as mine because if mine are cute than someone else's aren't: simple math. I don't think they needed a "skye-jo" extreme makeover to be even cuter, but again... Y chromosome. I'm glad for Becca getting these pictures taken, I refuse, naturally, to post the nude ones because I personally find it offensive. And yet I will brag about the cuteness of my nephews, and you will, of course, agree, not because of the skye-jo factor, but the fact that they're just inherently good looking. Musical Blogs- Another Rant

When I first got into blogging, one of the attractive features was being able to share my music whenever someone came to my site. I did not think to myself: "Cool! Now I can force people to listen to my music." I looked into doing it and found some reputable sites that allowed you to download this feature, but then I realized something: "What if certain people don't LIKE my kind of music?"
And that's when I decided NOT to put music on my blog. Now, I know there's all kinds of arguments to my way of thinking: in-store music, riding in someone else's car, calling services that have on-hold music, etc. But most of these are easily rebutted, and so I won't go into them all. But I will go into this one: If someone is riding in MY car, I usually let them "deejay" so that they can listen to whatever they want, not what I want. I have a friend who loves Smashing Pumpkins (yes, Sarah, I'm talking about him) and he even listens to it in the car. Loud. Now, being around him has certainly helped me appreciate Smashing Pumpkins more, but that doesn't mean I want to listen to it EVERY TIME I'm around him. He also listens to The Cardigans, Queen, and Danny Elfman to name a few things. So, if you play music on your blog, here's something to think about: are you sharing, or are you forcing me to hit the mute button on my computer just because I want to see what's going on in your life?
