WORDS, DON’T FAIL ME NOW
But now I’m sore afraid
I must say it right
Words, don’t fail me now
If I don’t say all
How can she ever know
I’m dying inside to tell
My lips speak but nothing
My God! How I’m blessed
No merit could have deserved
A debtor will I be
A work in progress forever
The terror should I lose
My treasure buried so deep
She polishes me every day
A tender eye of laughter
My rock in tempest sea
I cling with every ounce
Strength with which I scream
Words, don’t fail me now
Her smile heats my soul
My heart is locked away
She holds the only key
Safely wraps me in warmth
Her beauty unmatched yet savored
A cherub dwells with me
Her light blinds my flaws
The sun pales and hides
A scorch upon my mind
A handprint on my heart
Life and breath to me
Seeing her is almost enough
A joy to daily wake
Her skin brings me bliss
I must tell her somehow
Words, don’t fail me now

Awww, cuter! You are a pretty good writer Jacob, I have to admit.
this is really beautiful. Lines I love?

Nice work. I'll bet Kat feels pretty special. She should, she's a pretty awesome girl.
Well, ain't you quite the poet? I knew you wrote pretty good prose, but poetry too. WOW!
