Straight or Curley?

Once again these are not the cutest pictures but a lot of you have been wanting to see what my hair looks like dark. Now my brother can't say I look like Hillary Clinton.

Another tribute to the blanket

I thought she wouldn't like her blanket as much after she stopped sucking her thumb but she still has to take it wherever she goes.

Lily signs

These are the only signs that she knows so far. It is so fun to see her learning and understanding.

Just had to post it ...

I know some of you might find this offensive, but I think it's just the right touch of humor given all the things that were said about BYU football last year. Especially Austin Collie when he said something to this effect, "If you work hard and live right on and off the field, the Lord steps in and gives you a hand."

Sibling Spotlight: Adam

I thought it'd be fun to talk about my different siblings and put the spotlight on them for a bit. This is about my one and only brother, my little brother, Adam. One of the things about Adam that I like is that he will tell you until he's blue in the face that he's taller than me. In reality he's not, but that's what makes him so great. One time, when Adam and I were canning tomatoes or something like that, we heard a small noise. I thought it was the pop of a cooling can, but Adam thought that it was a dog in the background. Well, partly for fun and partly to annoy my dad for making us can, we said "Pop" and "dog" for over an hour non-stop. We shared a room until I moved out of the house to go to college, so we got to know each other pretty well. Adam helped to delay my ascent into adulthood, because we played with action figures until I was in high school. We made these elaborate bases for the ninja turtles and power rangers complete with ziplines and coat hangers that they rode on. It was amazing. Worlds were built and destroyed, epic battles raged on for millenia, and turtles fell in love with humans (and vice versa) inside our bedroom. And different times we've been best friends and worst enemies.
Adam writes books, too. He's trying just as hard as I am to get published, and with equal success. He's studying English in Utah at a four year school. He dabbles in poetry, but what I've read is really good. I used to keep him up at night making up stories, doing flashlight shadow creatures, or having contests to see who could fall asleep first. Sometimes I would make him hold my hand, even though he was on the bottom bunk and I was on the top. Three cheers for my brother, Adam!

Just being cute and silly

Now that Lily can walk, I thought she might enjoy playing outside. All she wanted to do was eat little rocks.
My favorite part about this face she makes is the huge gap between her teeth.

Uh oh she found the credit card and loves it. She always gets into my wallet.

Look mom I took off my shoes again.

I just had to put this one on because I think she is wearing the cutest little capri pants.

Finally

Lily has been refusing to walk but today for some reason she came walking into my bedroom. She has been walking all over the house ever since. It is so weird to see her walk but I am excited that she has finally learned. She kind of does a little sideways shuffle but I think it's cute.

Look-alike Meter

It took me so long to do this look-alike thing. The program was giving me fits.(Thanks Emily for showing it to me.) I am so mad that Jacob won by 7%. Not that I think he is bad looking. Of course I think he is very handsome but I was hoping to win. I was trying to use the picture below. I thought for sure I would win with that one (even though it is a terrible picture) but like I said the program was giving me fits. I will have to try again later. Congrats Jacob. She's a beauty thanks to you.

Spring Cleaning

I have been dreading this whole spring cleaning thing for a while now and I finally found my motivation to do it. The other day I saw Lily put something in her mouth and when I got it out I realized it had eyes and legs. It was some dead bug that had been sitting there for who knows how long. I feel like I sweep all the time because of these darn wood floors but appearantly it is not enough. That picture obove is just the bedroom. I moved all the furniture and did a full sweep down of the whole place.

Luckily I had this little helper........or not so much.

Note to self : never feed your child goldfish crackers after spending a couple hours sweeping the floor. They were everywhere.

Some Funny Despairs

If you know about Despair.com and you know about BYU and Utah, then you'll get these. Two of them I made, one of them came from someone else.

Get your name on the friend board

It's nice to have these problems. Kat and I have lots of friends, and we don't want to try and think of them all and leave people out. If you'd like to see your link on our upcoming friend board, leave us your link in a comment and you'll make our lives easier by knowing you have a blog and what it is. Then we can check it more often and leave you more comments. Win win .... win. We all win.

We Love the (Off) Spring

We tried doing some pigtails but they didn't work out quite right. Her hair needs to be just a little bit longer.
The weather is finally warm enough to play outside. Lily loves it. Now she always stands by the front door and looks out the glass.

Lily thinks every sound is music worth dancing to. She loves to dance. I can't sing her a song to put her to bed with out her dancing.

A Classic Tale of Love and Adventure: A Call to Arms -- A Call for HELP

Okay, so I've written a new book and just finished editing it. Now I need people with a critical eye to read it. Let me go further: most people just sit back and read books to let their minds turn off and be entertained. That's great, I do it too. But I'm looking for people to read this and tell me what's good and not good about it. I think the book is worth your time, so, if you're willing to read it and want to do it and can get it done within the next four weeks, let me know! If you're too chicken to tell me what you didn't like, or you're not sure you have the time, or you're afraid it'll stink, buy the paperback copy in a few years. In return, anyone who helps me out will get an acknowledgement at the beginning of the book. That's all I can really offer as a reward.

What's it about? It's a love and adventure story, that's all I'll say. If it was a film it'd be PG-13. There's no swearing or torrid sex or even non-torrid sex. Just a little action violence with swords and bows and arrows, nothing gory. Please don't proofread it for grammar, I'll do that later. I'm asking for your thoughts about the plot, characters, pacing, etc. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry, just buy the hardcover. If you're interested email me (my first and last name with no space or undescores at gmail), and thanks!

Spring Break or Prison Break?

This year I have my first spring break since high school! I've spent it doing a few things: catching up on anatomy, editing A Classic Tale of Love and Adventure Volume 1, and catching up on Prison Break, one of mine and Kat's favorite shows on TV. I must say the third season has been pretty freakin' awesome. If you haven't started watching it yet, put down Twilight, and start doing something good with your time! Couldn't help it. Sorry. If you like 24, Prison Break is right up your alley. It's intense, dramatic, and the writing is about 100x better than Keifer's show. While we're discussing TV shows, The Office starts back up next week and NBC just announced a spin-off show in the fall. We'll see how that goes....
